PLEASE – Can You Help Get Us To BlogPaws Conference This Year?

BlogPaws Conference– Tyson’s Corner, Virginia

Sponsorship, Sponsorship, wherefore art thou Sponsorship?

I am an experienced Sponsored Bloggger and the creator of the blog AdoptedMomToChazzTheDog.wordpress.com. I have been producing interesting, entertaining, educational, and fun content for this blog for over two and a half years…ever since adopting my dog, Chazz.

ChazzTheDog

ChazzTheDog

At the blog we do Product Reviews, passing on information to pet lovers and pet parents concerning our experiences with various pet products – you may be looking to get for your furbaby.

In addition, we have created a special area doing reviews of dog themed books and films .Chazz’s Literary Corner and Chazz Goes To Da Movies is where you can find our crackerjack reviews, opinions, movie trailers, and ratings. Chazz himself weighs in with a 4-Paw Rating Scale…so you are getting it straight from the pup’s mouth (or paws)!!

We have received great feedback at our blog and statistics show it has been viewed in at least 54 countries. (How do they translate Awooooooooooo into other languages? Giggles)

Now we are reaching out, extending our paws looking for help/Sponsorship to the to the upcoming BlogPaws Social Media and Networking Conference being held in Tyson’s Corner, VA. We live in Los Angeles…and that trip: airfare, hotel, conference registration will run in the neighborhood of $1,000.00. Keeping Chazz properly fed, trips to the vet, and a few nail clips takes all the money we’ve got..and there just isn’t an extra thousand laying around to spend on this trip. But we really want to go. I went last in 2011 and it was amazing. Keynote speakers, breakout sessions, how to improve your blog, meeting people and animals (yep people brought their pets over 70 dogs, 9 cats, and 2 ferrets that year)is well worth attending.

In return we can offer our services to distribute information on your product line or service, blog before, during, and following the 3-day conference, and just generally being a goodwill ambassador for your business. Get some “Paws On The Ground” at this event. We can be your eyes, ears, and nose sniffing out the happenings.

You can email me directly at adoptedmomtochazz@gmail.com for further details.

Please, please won’t someone out there give us a paw up? Paw it forward. We will do such a good job you won’t be disappointed. The conference is held May 16 -18, 2013 at the Sheraton Premiere-Tyson’s Corner. They roll out the red carpet for all us pet lovers and couldn’t be more helpful to the attendees or their pets.

We have our paws crossed and our hoping to hear from YOU. Thanks!

Regards, AdoptedMom and ChazzTheDog

Friday Pawwaves From The Dog – August 3, 2012

Woof efurrybuddy, it’s ChazzTheDog and AdoptedMom. Things are beginning to settle down for us so I thought this might be a good time to create a post for our bloggy thing: AdoptedMomtoChazzTheDog.wordpress.com It has been a good long while since we were regularly posting and lots has changed…but some things remain constant.

At the end of June when lots of my pals were going to the BlogPaws Conference in Salt Lake Ciy with their hoomans….Mommie and I were moving. Actually it was the exact same weekend! Mommie was disappointed about not being able to go cuz she had a great time last year at her first BP Conference held in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia..even though there was that lil pesky thing called Hurricane Irene that ran through town while they met…but no matter! But the move took priority; or we wouldn’t have had a place to live. Awooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! So Mommie with the help of her brother, Uncle Mark, , Sister-In_Law Shirley and her friends Drew & Bill trucks were rented, storage spaces emptied, and it all ended up here at our new house. Oh, we still live in Eagle Rock and one of these days Mommie will go back to the Eagle Rock Farmers Market where she sells stuff for dogs & kittehs under the name MuttMania. Hee hee, my picture is on the booth banner. Cuz I’m cute! Right now we are still unpacking all the boxes of stuff: Kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, my doggie backpack, my tent, my new exercise pen..you get it…all the impawtent stuff! It is a very nice 1 bedroom cottage and we have our own front and backdoor with a teeny porch. (for pals to have a cuddlepile on one of these days)I am still getting used to which is our house, sometimes I walk up the wrong steps. Mommie gives my leash a lil tug and says “Chazz this is not our house, we live over there.” But I know where I supposed to go pees & poops – so that’s really impawtant iformation!!

Mommie still hasn’t found her coffeemaker; so almost every morning we walk down to the corner where there is a little 50’s diner. Mommie eats her breakfast, and I wait in the side yard where they let me stay. See I make sure Mommie feeds me first, before we take that walk – then I don’t mind waiting so much for Mommie. BOL Everyone there is nice to me and I like going to see those guys.

I never knew Mommie had so many things and furniture. Wow, the whole house got filled up and she joked that she never has to go shopping again, ‘cept for food, drinks, soap, and toilet paper. And DOG FOOD /&TREATS & TOYS of course.

There is another dog who lives in the cottage right across from ours. I saw him the other day for the first time and barked hello. He looks like an okay sort, and maybe we will become furriends. I’m not sure yet. Oh there is a lady who lives upstairs, and I likey her a lot. She always holds my face with both her hands and tells me what a “love” I am. Mommie is a lil surprised I like her so much cuz she has cats in herz house. Four of em!

But I still like her. I fink it’s okay I tell you herz first name…it’s Maddy. She smiles each time she sees me. I want to go up the stairs to where she lives, but Mommie says not to.

There is a big barbecue up there. I want to see what she’s cookin on dat thing. Chazz licks his lips, drool.*

Mommie got me an exercise pen she puts up in front of our house on da grass. See I don’t have my backyard anymore and I fink Mommie feels bad about that. So far all I do is lay down in the pen and take a sunbath! Exercise not so much. BOL

Well gonna keep it short for today. I haf to go supervise Mommie or she will never get the rest of the boxes unpacked and the stuff put away. Haf a good weekend efurrybuddy — especially all my anipal furriends.

C u later. Pawwaves,

ChazzTheDog

We Are Still Here – 4.17.12

Hey Gang,

Just a short post to let you know we haven’t fallen off the face of the blogosphere!!

We’ve been kind of busy around here lately, and there just hasn’t been enough hours in the day to get a significant post up and out to our readers. We like to give our readers something to think about or some interesting images to look at – and when we can’t post that, well honestly we don’t want to just put up something willy nilly – just for the sake of posting.  I hope you understand.

UPDATE:

The BlogPaws/PetSmart sponsored “Build A Better Blog Contest” was quite an experience. As you know AMTCTD Blog was selected as a Top Ten Finalist – and for that we are very appreciative! We learned that 60 blogs entered the first round of competition; and from there the top ten were chosen.

As it turns out AdoptedMomToChazzTheDog was the youngest blog among the finalists in terms of overall time being established and posting.  So we are quite proud of that fact!

The experience of creating, filming, editing, script writing of an original video was quite a roller coaster ride. It was challenging, frustrating, and gratifying all at the same time. AdoptedMom had quite a learning curve to negotiate; and together with ChazzTheDog…we did our best.

CONGRATUALTIONS to the two winners, Puppy In Training & Snoopy’sDogBlog. We hope the experience working with the PetSmart business executives is everything you wish it to be.

What Else Is Going On?

Well it looks like ChazzTheDog & AdoptedMom have to move. No not our blog, from where we live to a new house.  So, we have been quite busy with sorting, organizing, and packing. Those of you who have moved recently, or ever, know how traumatic the whole process is. We haven’t actually found our new home yet, but we are keeping our paws crossed that something will pop up soon.  Please do the same for us if you would. We need all the help we can get.

Anyway, Chazz is still a regular at #NipClub and will be at the pawty this Thursday, the theme this week is “Cheers”, Where Everybuddy Knows Your Name. If you haven’t been to a Twitter Pawty at Nipclub, you definitely might want to check it out. It’s pawsome! all you have to do is go to your Twitter account, and at the end of your tweet add #nipclub. It’s best to use TweetDeck or HootSuite if you are familiar, that way you can see what all the pals say and can keep track when someone is talking to you directly. There’s lots of fun, virtual food, beverages, music & dancing. Starts at 4PM EST on Thursday.

Well, guess that’s about it for now. We are still trying to get to the BlogPaws 2012 Social Media Conference in Salt Lake City, this June. So if any dog themed business would like to spoonsor an experienced conference bloggerplease contact us at adoptedmomtochazz@gmail.com. We can give you a complete list of services we offer to represent your brand or business at this national and international 3 -Day Conference.

Hey, let us know what you & your furbabie are doing these days, or for the summer. Any travel plans for you and the family pet?  Leave a comment and we will post them for everybuddy to enjoy.

Awoooooooooooo!

ChazzTheDog & AdoptedMom

p.s. Stay tuned this month and in May. We will be having two different GIVEAWAYS, with some awesome prizes. You won’t want to miss out!

We are grateful for & to those who can see fit to “chip-in” & make a donation towards helping AdoptedMom reach this goal & get to the upcoming BlogPaws Conference.

(*See blue link at bottom left of blog page)

We have been trying to raise the necessary funds through business/corporate sponsorship as was done last year; but so far have been politely turned down.

AdoptedMom got so much out of attending last year, she wants to repeat in June 2012.

A Word About AdoptedMomToChazzTheDog

AdoptedMomToChazz is first and foremost a “pet parent” who adopted ChazzTheDog out of a rescue situation, and provided a forever home.

Inspired by this dog and relying on her writing skills – she started her blog http://www.adoptedmomtochazzthedog.wordpress.com

The blog is an evolving “work in progress” that strives to provide interesting content, valuable Product Reviews, and most recently a platform for Guest Bloggers, Animal Charities, and Shelters to get their message out. In addition, the AdoptionWorld&RescueReport page publishes individual accounts of dog rescue and adoption that are poignant, uplifting stories of triumph.

Previous Experience

Last year AdoptedMom co-created a group within the BlogPaws community, known as “BlogPaws Newbie Meet ‘N Greet.” It was formed to specifically address the questions & concerns of first time attendees to a BlogPaws conference. This is an ongoing group, that as of January2012 boasts 35 members. Phenomenal!

AdoptedMom was a Sponsored Pet Blogger to last year’s BlogPaws2011 Conference held in Tyson’s Corner , Virginia. It was her first conference in the pet world, and it was a terrific experience.

The educational sessions were informative & very valuable. Widgets, copywrite & FTC updates, contest & giveaway guidelines, driving traffic to your blog, SEO, branding  & many, many more interesting, onpoint offerings. The networking aspect was plentiful. Putting faces with names of people you have come to know on Twitter, Facebook, Triberr, Klout, and at #NipClub pawpawtys was a blast!

And the socializing: Sharing meals, meeting animal lovers from all over the country, telling storeis & learning things from each other was a benefit they didn’t list in the brochure!

What You Get In Exchange For Patronage

BLOGPAWS2011 AdoptedMomToChazz Speaks Out – Pt. 3

Hey Everybody, you might be looking for the details on the upcoming GiveAway…and they’re coming. But I want to finish telling you about BLOGPAWS2011. This was a really good conference. Let’s skip over to Friday Night (and I will go back for the education sessions and workshops.) Friday night the attendees of BLOGPAWS were treated to the ‘first press screening in the country for Disney’s Spooky Buddies” movie. Popcorn & Sodas to our hearts content; awaited us as we assembled and took our seats. Now this was unlike any movie I ever went to before; a much tougher crowd was on hand than usual – yep the 4-Paw kind. I have to tell you anytime there was some loud action on the big-screen, the dogs returned it with barking of their own. And immediately following that –  the ‘hooman’ audience was cracking up with laughter. I have to say it was all quite enjoyable.

The Buddies consist of these 5 characters: (L-R) Mudbud, Budderball, B-Dawg, Buddha, and Rosebud

Together they team up once more and save the day in a Halloween story, sure to become a favorite for you & your young children. Just to whet your appetite here are a few stills from the production:

Don’t worry, these little girl & guys will melt your heart for sure!      The Buddies cooking up a plan to save the day!

Following the screening, there was a fun Q&A with Director Robert Vince, a drawing for an oversized Buddy Dog Stuffed Animal Toy, and a photo op with one of the animal stars of the film.

AdoptedMom’s Movie Review*: As I said to one of the Disney representatives/publicists,  who found me out in the lobby following the screening: ‘  Having no young children, I would not normally go to see any of  the pictures from this franchise –   so this movie was a surprise – Both entertaining and cute as a button.’ The story was fun loaded with heroes and villans, a doggie in distress that needed rescuing, and in a small town the struggle and ultimate triumph of good over evil .  Plus who can argue with a soundtrack that includes that classic novelty hit, Monster Mash, and a good, if not goofy character who goes by the name of FrankenDude!

Come on guys, buy this one for your kids when it come out on Blu-Ray. I guarantee they will want to watch it year after year. Psst, you might even sit down alone and watch it – ya know, just for fun.

*Attribution:  This review is my own personal thoughts and feelings about the movie. No person or entity influenced my views.

BLOGPAWS2011 AdoptedMomToChazz Speaks Out – Pt. 2

Now let’s see, when I left off, well you know what I’m going to methodically go thru & review all of the different aspects of the conference.

    WELCOME RECEPTION

I’m embarrassed to say, but I think the biggest questions on the minds of many of us attendees going into the reception was, “Is there going to be dinner? Do we need to make arrangements to get something to eat?” Never fear, the BlogPaws Event Team & The Sheraton Premiere had it covered! They did a fun “Mashed Potato Bar”. In a martini glass you got around 2 scoops of either white or sweet potato as a base. Then you went down the line and loaded up on toppings, green onion, bacon, broccoli florets, grilled or red onion, sourcream, quacamole, roasted peppers, & more. Yummy. After that they had salad fixings, some pasta, and dessert.

Let me go ahead right here and tell you the eatin’ was good all three days of the conference. It was tasty, artfully presented, and there was plenty of it. In the infamous words of my dear departed Grandmother, “If you left the table hungry, it was your own darn fault!” And for you cheesecake gourmets…well let’s just say there was fruit topped cheesecake, marble cheesecake, plain cheesecake, & chocolate cheesecake. Okay I guess it’s clear I like to cook & I like to eat. So sue me. I was raised to appreciate the time, money, and preparation that goes into putting a meal on the table–and unless you’ve got a real good reason – you better eat your food.

I’m going to stop here, and I promise the next installment will cover workshops, breakout sessions, exhibitors, etc. I just want you to get the full flavor of the experience, to the best of my blogging ability.

BLOGPAWS2011 – AdoptedMomToChazz Speaks Out -Pt.1

It took me awhile to get here, but look at it this way, an earthquake, Hurricane Irene, not even a cabin attendant dumping a cup of ice down me & my iPAD case could not stop me from reporting on the BLOGPAWS2011 Social Media & Networking Conference held August 25 – 27th at the Sheraton Premiere in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia.
Attendee Program Cover

Two things need to be stated up front. First, a big salute and thank you again goes out to KURGO, who sponsored me, and without whom I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the experience of attending the conference. Hip, Hip, Hooray. Second, this was some terrific event. Over the years of my work history I’ve attended conferences in other industries in New York for the Toy Show, in Chicago for Educational Toys, Games, Books, & Puzzles, etc…and I have to tell you that this conference matched those others in offerings, execution, information, logistics, and just plain old fun such that I would score it at a 9.5 out of 10!!! The Sheraton and their staff was fabulous. I was told that the hotel was completely taken over for the weekend by the conference with a few 60 or so other guests not involved with BlogPaws!

When I say taken over I mean, 400 Registered Attendees, just under 50 Sponsor/Exhibitors, between 65-70 Dogs, 3 Cats, 2 Guinea Pigs, and 2 Ferrets. We were large & in charge.

The facilities included a Grand Ballroom, where we had our meals, listened to the keynote speakers, and enjoyed a Disney movie preview for “Spooky Buddies. The Pavillons and MeetingRrooms where I attended various workshops and breakout sessions. The Exhibitor Hall where the sponsor booths and tables were located. The Exhibitor Lounge where you could sit & take a time out, put your feet up and enjoy a coffee or soda, talk with a vendor if you were lucky enough to arrange a meeting.

The hotel had a complete Vet/MD Tracker program going on at a lower level that honestly I did not get to tour. There were directions to a Pet Walk where you & your furbuddy could go for exercise and to take care of rest breaks (for the dog that is!)
Lastly, the BlogPaws Team thought to have an area called The Pet Park. This was a large meeting room equipped with water, dog toys, and volunteer pet sitters who took the dogs for walks, for potty breaks, and simply played with them in the room.

Now that you have some idea of the setup, logistics and such tune in for my next post to give you the flavor of the work I did there for KURGOexhibiting, demonstrating and talking about their award winning travel gear for dogs, as well as the education workshops I attended on the FTC, Contest/GiveAways, Copyrights & Trademarks, The Wonderful Widgets of Oz, and The Flat Pet Workshop.

I met so many new pet parents that I hope to turn into friends over the coming months…it was really a valuable trip, well worth any inconvenience, and I learned a lot.

Wow, I just don’t believe how busy I’ve been since returning from BLOGPAWS! Haven’t even had a chance to do my own posts about the trip. Trying to finish up all the reports, surveys, and other stuff I committed to doing.

I think I’m just about done and can return to Blogging, MuttMania, Farmers Market Vendoring, BarkWorld – Atlanta, & SuperZoo – Las Vegas.

Let’s see: Did MuttMania last Friday at Eagle Rock Farmers Market and made my booth rental back in 45 minutes. It was great. I think folks are beginning to get I am there & what I have for sale. Will be starting back up this Wednesday 4Pm – 8Pm with Silversun Farmers & Artisans Market over next to Target @ Eagle Rock Plaza. Plans for a bang up reopening are being put into place with food, jumpers for the kids, music on the community stage, etc. MuttMania will be there with all kinds of new goodies for your dog or cat. Come Check It Out – You wpon’t be disappointed!!!

I won a free registration to BarkWorld courtesy of Modern Dog Magazine. Thanx MDM, but it’s all the way over in Atlanta. Not sure I can swing the trip. But never fear…SuperZoo in Las Vegas is just around the corner. My friends from KURGO have a booth and I’m thinking about going up for the day. Haven’t been back to Las Vegas in years. A pet conference may be just the thing that gets me there!!!

OK, it’s Sunday and I want to hang out with Chazz The Dog and some friends….cya all later!

Conference Amidst Hurricane Irene

About 25 percent of the attendees left early on account of Irene. Those of us who stuck it out were treated to the chance to win some great prizes ie. IPAD, vet plan/insurance for a year, digital camera– some really cool stuff.

A lot of people came with their pets. I think I heard there were at least 80 dogs here, some number of cats, a guinea pig, and two ferrets.

They offered a Pet Park for the dogs witH volunteer walkers, pet sitters, etc. Nice touch.

We were treated to a screening of the new Disney movie, “Spooky Buddies”last night w/ popcorn and sodas. The dogs in the audience voiced their approval of the canine stars. Lol
More about that in a full review later.
